Report a concern

Put a concern in the right hands.

Start by naming what happened: a medicine problem, professional conduct, or a billing or sales dispute. Keep the names and records that connect it to the right place.

Start with the short answer
Follow the question.

Words to start the conversation

  • Which person or pharmacy is involved?
  • What happened, and what records show it?
  • Is this about health, professional conduct or sales?

Reconsider the care assumption

The route depends on the concern.

Kansas complaint routes as of October 1, 2026.

Anyone with knowledge of possible unprofessional conduct may complain to the Kansas Board of Healing Arts. The complainant need not be the patient.

Use the board that licenses the profession involved.

Find the route for this concern

A concern about a doctor, nurse or pharmacy

For a doctor or physician assistant, use the Healing Arts board’s complaint guidance.

For a nurse or nurse practitioner, the Nursing Board directs the public to its downloadable complaint form.

For a pharmacy or pharmacist, use the Pharmacy Board complaint route. You may complain without giving your name. The board publishes its final decisions on penalties or restrictions.

The pharmacy investigation may take months or years. A report does not provide an instant answer.

A medicine problem or sales dispute

A medicine problem

Medicine problem reporting as of September 17, 2026.

FDA means Food and Drug Administration. Its MedWatch programme lets patients send reports about medicine problems.

A report about a problem does not show, by itself, that the medicine caused it.

A sales or scam concern

A sales dispute or scam concern can go to the Kansas Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division. It has an online complaint form.

The division cannot give private legal advice, and some disputes fall outside its scope.

Keep a clear record

Save the medicine label, receipt, written quote and messages. Record your treating professional’s full name and the pharmacy’s name.

Describe what happened in order, using your own words. Keep the facts you know separate from the questions you want answered.

Keep a copy of what you submit and any reply. For an urgent health concern, seek care rather than waiting for a complaint response.
